Iran War Day 7 — March 7, 2026
Operation Epic Fury entered its seventh day with a new wave of strikes on Tehran in the early hours of Saturday. Mehrabad Airport caught fire following reported airstrikes and Israel said it hit an Iranian command centre in Beirut’s Dahieh district at the same time. Over 80 Israeli Air Force jets struck military infrastructure across Tehran and central Iran overnight, targeting missile storage, command infrastructure and IRGC training facilities.
Where the Numbers Stand
US Central Command says more than 3,000 targets have been struck since the conflict began on February 28. Iran’s Iranian Red Crescent puts the death toll at 1,332. Iranian ballistic missile attacks are down 90% and drone attacks down 83% from the opening days, with analysts pointing to depleted missile stores and a rationing strategy.
Trump Demands Unconditional Surrender
Speaking from the White House, Trump said there would be no negotiations until Iran agrees to unconditional surrender. White House officials later clarified that could mean either a formal announcement or simply being left unable to fight back. Trump also said the US wants a role in shaping Iran’s future leadership. Iran’s UN ambassador rejected both positions outright.
The War Is Spreading
Iran launched strikes against Gulf states including the UAE and Kuwait throughout Friday. Saudi forces intercepted a ballistic missile aimed at Prince Sultan Air Base. Iranian missiles were also fired over Tel Aviv, triggering sirens and interceptor launches. Azerbaijan has deployed troops toward the Iranian border and Russia is under scrutiny for potentially sharing intelligence with Iran about US positions, a claim US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said Washington is actively tracking.
Civilian Toll Drawing International Attention
The UN has called for an independent investigation into a strike on a girls’ school in Minab that reportedly killed 165 students. The call signals growing international pressure over civilian casualties as the conflict moves into its second week.
