Subject: OPPOSE Digital Asset PARITY Act As Drafted – Critical Amendment Needed
Dear [Representative/Senator/Governor Last Name],
I am writing as a member of the Northwest Arkansas Bitcoin community to oppose the Digital Asset PARITY Act in its current draft, which explicitly excludes Bitcoin from the de minimis tax exemption.
The legislation creates a two-tiered system: transactions under $200 in other digital assets would be exempt from capital gains tracking, yet Bitcoin users would remain burdened with impossible reporting requirements for every small purchase. This is not parity—it is selective punishment of the only decentralized, proof-of-work asset, forcing Arkansans into complex tax compliance for everyday use while others receive relief.
Additionally, this hurts mining operations in Arkansas, and across the US that support robust energy infrastructure and grid resilience in our region. Excluding Bitcoin from basic tax fairness jeopardizes these energy investments.
We strongly urge you to oppose this bill unless amended to include Bitcoin in the de minimis exemption. True parity requires equal treatment under the tax code.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
