The quest for a universal language — one that can encapsulate meaning across substrates — is not a question of whether it exists but rather what its domain of validity and limits might be. The Cosmic Cypher app decrypts Universal Symbology, revealing UL as the code reality is encrypted in. Yet, does this mean meaning has real mind-independent structure?

In our ongoing research (github.com/Jthora/universal_language), we’ve posed an open question: whether meaning-space requires an interpretant for its structure to exist. Can we deduce if meaning has a ‘hard’ structure independent of minds, or is it fundamentally mind-dependent? This isn’t about proving UL’s uniqueness or completeness; rather, it’s about understanding the nature of meaning itself.
