Turn up the mutation. You’re evolving with Public Record, art and culture brought to you by people like you and Hello Merch. This week, we’re proud to present a conversation with Devo, taped live and in-person in Phoenix, Arizona.

On Saturday, April 11th, Public Record,Hello Merch, and**Easy Partners** welcomed legendary the legendary Akron, Ohio art punks to our historic warehouse, Hello Lincoln.

It was a full day of exclusive merch—including a design by underground comix artist Brad Dwyer, wine from Gerry Casale’s Fifty by Fifty winery, high-energy songs spun by DJ Kate Scratch Fever, art by Mark Mothersbaugh, and a special set by cover band **Spud Patrol,**featuring members of **Sneak, Here in Spirit,**and The Rebel Set.

Formed in 1973, DEVO went on to define art-pop, and had a profound influence on synth pop, punk rock, and post-punk aesthetics. Dedicated to a satirical and avant-garde sensibility, no less an authority than David Bowiecalled them “the band of the future.”

53 years into their run, they still have a lot to say about the world of tomorrow—and the world of today. We’re pleased to present their thoughts as they answer fan questions from the audience. Has de-evolution caught up with us? How did the band come to work with Brian Eno? And most importantly: what are their favorite potato dishes?
