We Need Your Flyers | Public Record

We want your flyers! Public Recordand AZ Music Scene Archive are making a book—and we need your help.

Since 2024, Javier Martinez and Anne Lasswell have been documenting the Grand Canyon State’s musical history via the Arizona Music Scene Archive, and Instagram account that has, thus far, shared more than 2,100 flyers, photos, concert calendars, and other ephemera showcasing what Martinez calls “the heyday of local shows.”

For those who’ve been around awhile, the page has become a gathering space to share memories about the punk, metal, hardcore, ska, and indie rock shows of the 90s and 2000s, and for younger fans, it offers a look at musical history that might otherwise be lost to time.

And how, Public Record is teaming up to hunt for flyers from Phoenix’s musical past for a forthcoming book project.
