Unifor, the union representing Stellantis workers, has commenced contract negotiations with the U.S. automaker, initiating the final stage of bargaining with Detroit’s Big Three. This follows the union’s successful ratification of new agreements with Ford Motor Co. and General Motors in Canada earlier this summer. The talks occur as Stellantis is reportedly considering the closure and sale of its Brampton, Ontario assembly plant, which was slated for retooling for Jeep production before plans were paused.
