Carney Appoints Chief Trade Negotiator to Oversee Upcoming USMCA Review Prime Minister Mark Carney has appointed Janice Charette as Canada’s Chief Trade Negotiator to the United States. In this role, Charette will lead the country’s negotiations for the upcoming review of the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (CUSMA/USMCA). She will also serve as a senior adviser to Carney and Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc on strengthening bilateral trade and investment, working closely with Ambassador Mark Wiseman.
