Two People Rescued Alive From Nepal Hydropower Tunnel

Two workers, Sanjay Sah and Kabir Maharjan, were rescued alive from a tunnel at the Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Station. They were trapped for nine days following an ice, rock, and mud slide that occurred on August 26th. This slide swept through a valley in Nepal, causing over 1,200 deaths and displacing tens of thousands, and is believed to have trapped at least 900 people in tunnels related to six hydropower projects along the Trishuli River.
