Vancouver Police Officer Charged in Alleged $3M Theft Case Involving 19 Victims
A veteran Vancouver Police Department officer is facing fraud, theft and breach-of-trust charges in a case involving 19 known victims and reported losses exceeding $3 million, authorities say. Kalwinder Singh Dosanjh, 50, a 26-year veteran of the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), is facing four counts of fraud over $5,000, four counts of theft over $5,000, and one count of breach of trust, according to police. The police department also charged Sarabjit Singh Gill, 51, of Surrey, B.C., with six fraud and theft-related offences. Police arrested both men and took them into custody on Sept. 3. The allegations involve housing development projects and relate to alleged conduct between 2017 and 2025, police say. Court documents list the alleged offences as occurring between Dec. 8, 2017, and July 25, 2025. The documents also identify the two men as partners in several property development ventures that have been the subject of civil lawsuits.
