Two former leaders of the Hong Kong Alliance, Lee Cheuk-yan and Chow Hang-tung, were convicted on August 21st for inciting subversion under the national security law. They were accused of inciting others to commit acts aimed at subverting state power through unlawful means. The Hong Kong Alliance itself was also found guilty in the trial.
