Calgary Officer Won’t Face Charges After Call That Ended With Broken Skull of 12-Year-Old Autistic Boy

A Calgary police officer will not face criminal charges following an incident in 2018 where a 12-year-old autistic boy sustained a basal skull fracture. The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) initially found reasonable grounds to believe the officer committed an offense. However, the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service concluded there was no reasonable likelihood of conviction and recommended no charges be laid.
