Still Here | Part 1 Three Letters to Decay

The Three Letters to Decay is a poetry series I wrote on my procrastination.

I. Still Here

(The Confrontation)

I said, “It’s fine. Just wait a bit.”
The moment passed. I stayed. I sit.
You whispered soft, like rest, like grace, And wore my life behind my face.

You came in quiet, kept me still.
You dressed as choice, then broke my will.
I fed you days. You stayed unfed.
You kept me safe. You kept me dead.

I want you gone. I said it loud.
But you return, a softer shroud.
You smile. You ask. You pull me near.
And just like that — you’re still fucking here.
