Highlights from the Bitcoin Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, June 8-9, 2024
The Bitcoin conference in Sofia on June 8-9 featured various projects and highlights. Aleksander Svetski introduced his book "The Bushido of Bitcoin", alongside a new social media app for travelers called Satlantis, which is a Nostr client that can integrate BTC payments. Pierre Corbin discussed Nostr Wallet Connect for Bitcoin Lightning payments. Ben de Waal shared tips on spending Bitcoin, and Jacob Piotrowski promoted Bitcoin meet-ups. Daniel Prince did a great job MC'ing. The conference was well organized and there was also program in Bulgarian.

It uses a 2/3 multisig system with keys held by Onramp, BitGo, and Coincover, ensuring security and reducing single-point failure risks. Funds are auditable on-chain, stored offline, and withdrawal requires KYC and video verification. Onramp provides long-term storage, tax advantages, and services like inheritance planning and investment funds, catering to those seeking professional bitcoin custody solutions.
Bringin: Fast Offramp from Lightning to Fiat With a Personal IBAN Account
Bringin is a service that allows fast conversion of bitcoin to euros using personal IBAN accounts, mitigating risks of getting "debanked" for just buying bitcoin. Users receive a dedicated Maltese IBAN account for transactions, facilitating quick fiat withdrawals through SEPA Instant. Bringin charges a 1% fee and plans to offer single-use virtual debit cards. Currently available only in Europe with mandatory KYC, it also provides an API for businesses to accept bitcoin.
