Genomic Test May Allow Some Breast Cancer Patients to Skip Chemotherapy

A landmark international trial has found that a genomic test called Prosigna can identify which breast cancer patients can safely forgo chemotherapy. The study showed that patients with a low recurrence risk score on the test had similar survival rates when treated with hormone therapy alone compared to those who also received chemotherapy.
