I see connections. My hand is bigger than my mouth. I act accordingly. We are all winning.

First, the baby lives in a stone-age world where the most interesting things are objects and how they form into tools; next comes art, before even language—attractive patterns, the making of pictures and colors as if on cave walls, as these are tools extending into the abstract realm; then comes language and thought, and the sparks of reasoning and planning; then, literacy, the big bang, as oceans of knowledge begin to pour into the waiting receptacle; following that, mathematics, as reasoning reaches its apotheosis and the mind accesses the platonic realm, and so on and so forth. In terms of what this means practically, the progression focuses on first the physical world and the people in it, then oral culture as stories are mainly told (either read aloud by parents or listening to Yoto players), then after that literacy itself, and then films are introduced like Disney classics or Studio Ghibli, then more complex, longer books—we are here—and then eventually television, video games, the internet, social media, and finally, at the end of intellectual development, artificial intelligence.

But right now they know basically nothing about AI, which is excusable because they are 5 years old, 3 years old, and 3 months old, respectively. And I have absolutely zero patience for the idea that kids should get heavy exposure to AI as early as possible, because I firmly believe that education should recapitulate civilization.

ter at home and a phone in our pocket.

I want more people to try. Pick a small problem and build a tool that solves it. Share it under a name you chose. We can build the tools for a freer world with a phone in our pocket and our feet

For decades, cypherpunks have imagined a world where useful software and private exchange are available to everyone. Now we have more of the tools to help build it ourselves, with an old computer at home and a phone in our pocket.

"Cypherpunks write code," he declared, calling for tools shared freely worldwide. That ambition reaches beyond experienced programmers: a beginner can now build and share a modest Android app under a chosen identity, directing an open-source coding agent from a phone.

w me to repeat once more, for emphasis: publishing Android apps to Zapstore is absolutely magical. No account, no sign-up, no gatekeeping, no hoops to jump through. Build, sign, push, done. Available for everyone, everywhere. Signed by me. No way for middlemen to tamper with the release. Zaps and direct community feedback are the cherry on top. Shout-out to [Franzap](https://sovereig

” process, if you want to call it that: Grug outside. Grug happy. Grug see weird thing in app. Grug speak into phone. Grug take walk. Grug see update. Grug install update. Grug see bug fixed. Grug happy.

The reason why this process works so w

I told my agents to publish directly to Zapstore. I would sign my releases with Amber, install them on my device, and test everything in production.

This was before the times of Kotlin, and before the times of Swift on the iOS side. I actually ended up being the lead iOS developer at that company, since there was a bug or something that the iOS team couldn’t figure out at the time, so the CEO asked me if I could take a look, and well… “No good deed ever goes unpunished,” as a friend of mine likes to say.

Everyone has a belief system, B.S., the trick is to learn not to take anyone's B.S. too seriously, especially your own.
