This can be expressed formally in simple terms. Let M represent the total quantity of money and Y represent real economic output. The general level of prices P is proportional to the ratio between these two quantities. When the money supply expands faster than real output, prices rise. This is not the result of speculation, greed or market failure. It is the direct consequence of changing the denominator of the measurement scale. If the denominator of the scale were fixed, the natural outcome would be falling prices.
Monetary policy is presented as the solution to inflation and economic instability. Yet inflation and instability arise precisely because the monetary unit is expandable. The same mechanism that distorts price signals and generates cycles is then used to justify further intervention. This creates a closed logical loop. The policy claims necessity by responding to problems it systematically creates.

Modern societies measure economic reality using money as a unit of account. Prices, costs, profits, wages and debts are all expressions of this measurement. If the measurement itself is flawed, everything derived from it will also be flawed.
Asking the question why do prices rise is the main way we believe it is possible to open a dialogue with people who have never really thought about money. From there, in some cases, the conversation can eventually reach Bitcoin.

The idea is to inspire Bitcoiners to ask this question more often, in many different places. Whenever possible, to ask this question. That is the objective of this project.
From a logical and mathematical standpoint, scales with a changing denominator are not acceptable in any science, measurement system or rational analytical framework. A scale is only valid if the quantitative reference that defines it remains fixed. When the denominator changes, the scale ceases to be a scale. It becomes a sequence of different systems incorrectly treated as one continuous system.

There is no legitimate case in mathematics or empirical science where consistent inference is allowed from measurements taken on scales whose denominator varies without explicit redefinition of the reference base. Physics does not allow it. Engineering does not allow it. Chemistry does not allow it. Economics quietly ignores this rule.
