President Don Lemon? Former CNN anchor says he’s open if ‘the right opportunity’ comes

Don Lemon is in the headlines again — this time for floating the idea of running for president. On the March 29 episode of the “Pod Save America” podcast with former MSNBC host Alex Wagner, the former CNN anchor admitted that he’s open to running if the right opportunity presents itself.BlazeTV host Pat Gray played and reacted to the clip on a recent episode of “Pat Gray Unleashed.” Wagner asked Lemon if he was considering running for office. After a tangent about how he’s disadvantaged because he’s “not a white man” so the “rules are different” for him, Lemon said that he was open to the idea.“Do I ever think about it? Yes. Could it happen? Yeah, it could happen if the opportunity presented itself — the right opportunity presented itself. ... I think I could be president of the United States. I could definitely run this country better than Donald Trump,” he said.“A towel roll could. You would be a marked improvement,” Wagner replied.“As an independent though, there would be a hard time for me to run for anything because, you know, the way the system is set up. I'd have to choose a side. And so, you know, I probably would have to become a Democrat,” Lemon added.“You know what else I think that I could run better than most people? ... A news organization because I was there. I've been in the game for so long, and I'm not interested in being, you know, the anchor out front. I could come in and fix the bulk of their problems and lickety-split in no time flat,” he continued, noting that he’s currently “building his own channel.”Pat says the only thing Don Lemon could run well is “maybe a gay bar.”“What do you want to bet there'll be over five people there watching?” he asks, referencing Lemon’s new channel.Between Meryl Streep’s warning to women about the dangers of the SAVE Act and Lemon’s presidential aspirations, Pat “[loves] what’s happening with the left.”“They’re all so brilliant,” he laughs sarcastically. To see Lemon’s clip and hear more of Pat’s commentary, watch the video above.Want more from Pat Gray?To enjoy more of Pat's biting analysis and signature wit as he restores common sense to a senseless world, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Man shot by ICE during operation in California — feds say he's a gang member who tried to run over officers

A man being sought by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents tried to run over officers and was shot in Northern California on Tuesday, according to ICE. Officers were performing a targeted vehicle stop on Carlos Ivan Mendoza Hernandez in Patterson when he allegedly "weaponized" his vehicle and tried to run over officers. KCRA-TV obtained dashcam video of the incident showing that the man put his car in reverse and then drove forward while surrounded by agents. "Following their training, our officers fired defensive shots to protect themselves, their fellow agents, and the public," reads a statement from ICE Director Todd M. Lyons on social media. "The illegal alien was taken to a local hospital," he added. "The FBI is on the scene." Lyons added that Hernandez was a member of the heinous 18th Street Gang from El Salvador and was wanted for questioning in relation to a murder. No officers were injured in the shooting, and no law enforcement officers were involved in the shooting, according to the sheriff's office. KCRA-TV obtained dashcam video of the incident showing that the man put his car in reverse and then drove forward while surrounded by agents. At least one agent can be seen shooting into the car. The driver, assumed to be Hernandez, continues to drive the vehicle over the median in the direction of oncoming traffic before it comes to a stop. News helicopter footage from KCRA showed a lot of damage done to the car involved, including several gunshots in the windshield. ‘Stu and Dave Do America’ Premiere: Trump’s Most Annoying Employees Ranked and Roasted

In the premiere episode of “Stu and Dave Do America,” Stu Burguiere and Dave Landau lived up to the show’s name by diving straight into the issues Americans actually care about: the decline in spanking kids, the weirder side of foot fetishes, and — of course — a savage ranking of Donald Trump’s most annoying former employees. The nerdy-funny duo created a hilarious list of the president’s worst hires, complete with dishonorable mentions that will have you cackling. The dishonorable mentions kicked things off with a parade of Trump alumni who earned a special place in the “thanks but no thanks” hall of fame: John Bolton, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Pam Bondi, Kristi Noem, and plenty more. Stu and Dave didn’t hold back on the roasts — from Bolton’s “serial killer” vibe to some truly unhinged Noem-related tangents involving puppies and questionable plastic surgery. But the real contenders for most annoying Trump employee of all time were these five:Anthony FauciCorey LewandowskiSteve BannonMichael CohenAnthony ScaramucciDave cast his vote firmly for Fauci, declaring: “It’s been six years of a destroyed world because of Fauci. ... Literally anyone else would have done a better job.” Stu followed up by joking that even the teacher who created Airborne would’ve been better suited for the role. The whole segment is packed with the kind of rapid-fire banter and absurd tangents that make Stu and Dave such a great pairing — equal parts conserva-nerd precision and comedian chaos. LA Times gets scorched for trying to disqualify Pratt for mayor — because his home burned down in Palisades fire

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has fired back at the Los Angeles Times after its report cast doubt on his ability to run for office — because his house burned down. The report suggested Pratt may not meet residency requirements and was heavily criticized on social media by detractors who claimed that Mayor Karen Bass' incompetence led to preventable destruction of homes, the cause of Pratt's housing issues. 'They want to attack me for not living in the Palisades while running for mayor? Hey, brain surgeon, my house burned down!' Pratt, a former reality TV show star, lambasted the report in a video accusing a Times reporter of harassing his family in an attempt to aid Bass' campaign."They want to try and write a hit piece about me, about my residency? ... They want to attack me for not living in the Palisades while running for mayor? Hey, brain surgeon, my house burned down!" Pratt said in the video posted to social media.Pratt said he used an SBA disaster loan to pay for an Airstream travel trailer to be craned into his "burned-out lot" so that he could live there. He accused the Times of writing the "hit piece" after a poll showed him taking second place in the race behind Bass. The Times defended its piece in a statement to CBS News. "The Times learned that Mr. Pratt was living in Carpinteria and contacted him and those around him for comment," a spokesperson for the Times said. "We stand by our story and the reporting of our journalists."However, a community note on the X social media platform undermined the report:LA City Clerk guidance for wildfire-displaced residents directs keeping the original residential address (like Pratt's Palisades lot) for voter registration if relocation is temporary, updating only the mailing address to preserve City residency and eligibility.Former county supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky said the residency question will not likely be a problem for Pratt. "Common sense tells me he lost his home in the Palisades," he said. "He's got to find a place to live. I'm not sure this is an issue that gets any traction."RELATED: Los Angeles mayor's re-election campaign gets crushing news from 'downright devastating' poll A poll from UCLA's Luskin School of Public Affairs showed Pratt with 11% support and Bass with 25% support. However, 40% of respondents said they were undecided, meaning the race could change drastically before the primary election on June 2. Pratt has taken to mocking Bass with the nickname "Karen Basura," which means "trash" or "garbage" in Spanish. "I was born here, went to school at USC," Pratt said in the video. "I bleed Dodger blue. This is my city, and I'm taking it back."Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Will the Iran war tip the scales in the race to replace MTG?

The special election to replace former Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia could have a lot more to do with foreign policy than candidates initially anticipated. Greene's falling out with President Donald Trump marked a major fracture within the GOP, prompting a special election to fill her seat on Tuesday. Apart from the typical party distinctions, foreign policy could be the deciding factor between the Democrat and Republican nominees vying to represent Georgia's 14th congressional district. 'He has gone insane, and all of you are complicit.'Democratic nominee Shawn Harris has taken a harsh stance against the ongoing war in Iran, which has become increasingly unpopular with voters, while Republican nominee Clay Fuller has remained a supporter of the conflict. The horseshoe theory about the political spectrum seems to be in full swing as Greene's increasingly critical remarks about the war and the Trump administration more broadly seem to echo Harris' positions far more than Fuller's. RELATED: This scandal-ridden Democrat just got one step closer to being expelled from Congress ELIJAH NOUVELAGE/AFP/Getty ImagesDays before the special election, Greene doubled down on her criticism of the war, condemning Trump's Easter ultimatum to Iran. "Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness," Greene said in a response to Trump's post threatening to attack civilian infrastructure like power plants and bridges. "I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit.""Trump threatening to bomb power plants and bridges hurts the Iranian people, the very people Trump claimed he was freeing," Greene added. "On Easter, of all days, we as Christians should be reminded that the son of God died and rose from the grave so that we can be forgiven once and for all of our sins. Jesus commanded us to love one another and forgive one another. Even our enemies."RELATED: Veterans slam Democrat candidate for allegedly fudging military record Drew Angerer/Getty ImagesGreene has refrained from endorsing either candidate, although Fuller has secured support from Trump. While an endorsement from Trump would typically all but guarantee the candidate's success, especially in a rural, red district in Georgia, Harris narrowly outperformed his Republican challenger in March. In a crowded 17-candidate race, Harris brought in 37% while Fuller finished with 35%. The candidates' respective numbers were likely affected by the many candidates who no longer qualify for Tuesday's election. It should also be noted that a Trump-endorsed Greene beat Harris by nearly 30% back in 2024. Like Blaze News? 'COMPLETE & TOTAL ENDORSEMENT': Trump Puts Thumb on the Scale in the Race to Replace Gavin Newsom

With California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) nearing the end of his term, numerous candidates have stepped up to replace him in the upcoming gubernatorial primary race on June 2. Sixty-one individuals appear on the official certified list of candidates competing for California's top office. While there is currently no clear front-runner, several notable candidates have emerged. These include former Rep. Katie Porter (D), Rep. Eric Swalwell (D), climate advocate and businessman Tom Steyer (D), Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco (R), and Fox News host and small-business owner Steve Hilton (R). 'With President Trump's full backing and federal support, we are going to take California back and make it better than ever before!' President Donald Trump released a post on social media on Sunday attempting to tip the scales in favor of his preferred candidate in the crowded race. "I have known and respected Steve Hilton, who is running for Governor of California, for many years," Trump wrote. "He is a truly fine man, one who has watched as this once great State has gone to Hell." Trump gave the current governor the nickname "Newscum" and criticized him and other Democrats for doing "an absolutely horrendous job." "People are fleeing, crime is increasing, and Taxes are the highest of any State in the Country, maybe the World," Trump continued. "Steve can turn it around, before it is too late, and, as President, I will help him to do so! With Federal help, and a Great Governor, like Steve Hilton, California can be better than ever before!" RELATED: Republicans are leading the field in the California governor race Alex Brandon-Pool/Getty Images Trump declared that Hilton has his "COMPLETE & TOTAL ENDORSEMENT" in the upcoming primary. "He will be a GREAT Governor and, importantly, WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!!!" Trump added. Hilton's campaign thanked the president for his endorsement. "With President Trump's full backing and federal support, we are going to take California back and make it better than ever before!" the campaign wrote. "This is the moment California has been waiting for!" RELATED: USC accused of racism after minority candidates don't qualify for gubernatorial debate — so USC makes drastic decision Steve Hilton. Ronaldo Bolaños/Los Angeles Times/Getty Images Newsom has previously stated that he has "some concern" about how crowded the race has become. He told CBS News in early March that he was not yet ready to endorse any of the candidates. "I don't have an endorsement," he stated. "There might be a moment [for that] in the next few months." Several recent polls show Hilton with a narrow lead, while other surveys favor Bianco, Swalwell, or Porter. The top two finishers in the primary, regardless of party affiliation, will appear on the ballot in November. Like Blaze News? Catholic churches PACKED for Easter as conversions skyrocket

Catholic churches across the U.S. and other parts of the Western world welcomed historic numbers of new members over the weekend. Although popularly characterized as a "surge," some analysts have suggested the flood of new and often young converts is actually a rebound.Prior to welcoming 20 people fully into the faith during the crowded Easter Vigil at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, Archbishop José Gomez said, "Tonight your story will be joined to His story, to the beautiful history of salvation, the great story of God’s love for His people."'This generation just seems open to the call of the Lord.'Altogether, 8,598 catechumens and candidates were received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles this Easter, reported Angelus News.On Saturday, Archbishop Ronald Hicks welcomed some of the over 3,600 new catechumens who reportedly joined the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of New York this Easter season, telling a packed house at St. Patrick's Cathedral, "It does feel good when you belong, and we belong to Jesus and we belong to our church."Father Andy Matijevic of Holy Name Cathedral in the Archdiocese of Chicago told WBBM-TV, "We had six Masses so far, last night and a few this morning, and all of them have been packed inside."Holy Name, which held overflow Masses on Sunday, reportedly saw 18 people baptized and another 23 confirmed, contributing to the archdiocese's total of over 600 catechumens who received the sacraments of initiation at the Easter Vigil.Chicago Catholic noted last month that the archdiocese was also set to welcome 445 individuals from other Christian traditions this past weekend, representing a 78% increase in members over last year.RELATED: Catholic church sees huge surge in conversions — due to inclusivity? Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Ronaldo Bolaños/Los Angeles Times/Getty ImagesFather Burke Masters, whose St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Parish in the Chicago suburb of Hinsdale reported a 124% year-over-year increase in new members, told WLS-TV that the average age of those being received into the church is 28 years old.St. Mary's Church near Texas A&M's campus in College Station, Texas, also managed to roughly double its 2025 Easter baptism numbers, welcoming 61 catechumens into the Catholic Church. Again, most of the newcomers were apparently young adults."Most of the [new members] are students, most of them are invited by other students, most of them also maybe heard a call or were drawn to the church," Rev. Will Straten told KBTX-TV. "So it’s great to see more students desiring to be baptized and to live the faith."Boston Archbishop Richard Henning, who saw the churches under his purview similarly packed over the weekend and expected over 680 catechumens to join the Church at Easter, told CBS News, "I think this generation just seems open to the call of the Lord in a way that we've not seen in a while."Numerous other American dioceses — such as the Archdiocese of Newark — similarly reportedly years-high numbers of new Catholics converts, as did dioceses elsewhere in the Western world. In Canada, for example, the Archdiocese of Toronto counted a total of 2,050 adult catechumens baptized at its Easter Vigil celebrations — a 12.4% increase over last year. Other Canadian dioceses, including those covering the cities of Montreal, Ottawa, and Vancouver, were also reportedly set for significant growth over the weekend. In France, over 13,000 adults were set to be baptized into the Catholic Church over the weekend, including more than 700 catechumens in Paris, reported the National Catholic Register. The numbers appear especially high in large part because conversion numbers in recent decades had fallen so low.According to U.S. diocesan statistics compiled by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate at Georgetown University and analyzed by the Pillar, there was a precipitous decline in the number of people becoming Catholic from 2000 to 2020.Whereas, for instance, there were 173,674 adults baptized or received into full communion in 2000, that number reportedly had plummeted to 70,796 in 2020.The Pillar noted that while there has been a significant increase in the number of new adult Catholics following the pandemic, the number of babies baptized every year has dropped by over 50% since 2000.Like Blaze News? When is anger righteous? The Robertson brothers share Phil’s rule.

Scripture has many warnings about anger. Ephesians 4:31 tells us to put away “all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor.” Psalm 37:8 warns against anger and wrath. James 1:20 says “the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”And yet, anger is an emotion we all experience. Even Jesus himself expressed it at times. So how do we know when our anger is righteous and when it leads us into rebellion against God?On a recent episode of “Unashamed,” Al and Jase addressed this very question, drawing on the longstanding wisdom of their father, Phil Robertson — the late beloved patriarch of the family. The key, they explain, is examining what the anger is rooted in. Righteous anger, when boiled down, is ultimately an overflow of love rather than hate.Al shares a personal example.“My dad ... became angry at me when the lifestyle that I was living was against the covenant of our family,” he reflects.“I took that as I was being forsaken and shuned by him, ... but I was 180 degrees wrong. The only reason he had that conversation is because he did love me.”When Al finally turned from his prodigal ways, his father’s anger immediately gave way, revealing the deep love that had fueled it all along.“When I came back, guess who was right there waiting — not with hate, not with forsakenness, not with separation, but, ‘Welcome home, son’? The same dad,” he says. “Why? Because his love for me never stopped.”“A lot of times people think anger is a sin, but it’s not a sin. Anger can lead you to sin,” Al continues, noting that the Bible mentions anger “over 600 times,” but “85% of the 600 times, God is the one who’s angry.”To hear the Robertsons dive deeper into the powerful tension between God’s love and wrath — especially how they beautifully intersect at the cross — watch the episode above.Want more from the Robertsons? To enjoy more on God, guns, ducks, and inspiring stories of faith and family, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

This Easter, remember the cost of discipleship

For many people across the U.S., Easter Sunday means pastel-colored clothes, jelly beans, Cadbury eggs, or marshmallow Peeps. But Easter is far more than a cultural tradition or seasonal celebration. It is a declaration that should actually shape the way we live and has the power to transform lives: He is risen! That truth, echoed by believers all around the world every Easter Sunday, is the foundation of a faith that calls us not to a life of comfort, but to a life of commitment. To follow Christ is not only to receive the hope of eternal life, but to carry that hope into the world around us.Too often, we treat Christianity as a system designed to make life easier, provide emotional reassurance, or help us get something from God. Scripture makes it clear, and believers throughout history have experienced, that true Christianity costs us something. It calls for surrender, obedience, and a willingness to follow Christ even when the path is difficult. It’s natural to gravitate toward a version of Christianity that prioritizes comfort over sacrificial living. But in truth, persecution and hardships are not only possible but an expected outcome for a life of wholehearted devotion to following Christ.Jesus Christ, our example, willingly left the comfort of heaven's glory to enter a broken world and dwell among us. He lived among the very people He created, walking dusty roads, experiencing hunger and fatigue, facing rejection and temptation, enduring suffering — all ultimately to make the Father known.Throughout His ministry, He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and performed miracles — yet He never wanted people to follow Him merely for those “simple” benefits.During Jesus’ ministry on earth, massive crowds followed Him simply for the possibility of free bread. They wanted miracles and meals. But He wanted them to look past all of that and see that the true gift was Himself. “I am the bread of life,” He told them. “Believe in me!”Only a few individuals would see past their own desires and take the step to say, “I believe, and I will follow you no matter what.” As a result, they would be forever changed and go on to change the world.RELATED: Where Easter really comes from Bernard Jaubert/UCG/Universal Images Group/Getty ImagesThis is the truth of the Christian life: Following Christ requires us to embrace discomfort, sacrifice, and even suffering. The Bible does not hide this reality, but Easter reframes that suffering in light of something greater. The cross is not the end of the story. On that first Easter morning, everything changed. Jesus’ resurrection was not only a victory over death, but a promise that suffering does not have the final word. Sin, brokenness, and the grave were defeated. Because of this, even while withstanding hardship, believers can live with an unshakable hope rooted in the promise of eternity. As we read in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.”And this hope is not meant to be kept to ourselves.Years ago, a friend of mine who was overseas asked a shop owner, “Excuse me, sir, do you know Jesus Christ?” The man turned around and said, “We’ve got Pepsi, we’ve got Coke, but we don’t have Jesus Christ.” He had never heard the name of Jesus, so he thought Jesus Christ was a new soft drink. As someone who grew up in different cultures, I’ve seen firsthand the harsh truth that many people around the world still haven’t heard the gospel. Here in Texas where I live now — in the heart of the Bible Belt — it can seem like there is a church on every corner. On the other hand, I have gone more than 300 miles in some countries without passing a single church. As ambassadors for Christ, we still have so much work to do.After all, even in places like Texas, we have neighbors, co-workers, and friends who may recognize the name of Jesus but do not really understand what His death and resurrection are all about. For many, Easter remains a holiday without meaning, a tradition without truth. This is where the calling of every believer becomes both a responsibility and a privilege.RELATED: Easter changes everything: What the empty tomb means for you today Urupong/Getty ImagesTo follow Christ is not only to receive the hope of eternal life, but to carry that hope into the world around us. It is to reflect His love and choose to live so that others are drawn to the reality of who He is.That calling may be uncomfortable, to require us to step outside our routines, and even to risk rejection, but it is also one of the greatest privileges we are given: to bring light into a suffering world.Easter is a time to remember Christ’s sacrifice and His victory over sin, Satan, and death. He poured out His life so that we might partake of Him and be made like Him. That process requires obedience, faithfulness, and self-denial.But for all who trust Him and choose to live for Him as an act of worship, He will fill them with His presence. He will refresh, replenish, and empower us to bring His healing presence into the world around us.Editor’s note: This article was originally published by RealClearReligion and made available via RealClearWire.

Faith, 'divine journey,' and Trump will ensure unforgettable World Cup, island nation's soccer president says

The soccer president from the tiny island nation of Curaçao says divine intervention has brought his team to the World Cup and, in turn, to the United States and in front of President Trump. The executive's faith is also what has him confidently saying that everyone involved will lead with love, including the president. 'President Trump will make sure that this will be a World Cup that will not be [forgotten].' Gilbert Martina, president of the Curaçao Football Federation, humbly avoided bragging about his hard work that turned his nation's soccer program around. Instead, he credited a long but fruitful 'divine journey.' In an interview with Blaze News, Martina spoke in detail about his many run-ins with divine intervention, including his trip to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., in December. There, at the World Cup draw, he sat just a few yards away from Trump and came to believe that Trump will act with love and grace to make it the biggest World Cup in history. 'We are all spiritual beings, and we have to take care of each other, and we have to globalize love,' Martina passionately decreed. 'And football unites. That's the slogan of FIFA. So I'm sure all stakeholders and even President Trump will make sure that this will be a World Cup that will not be [forgotten], ever, because it's the biggest on this planet.' RELATED: Unpaid bill has Foxboro refusing to grant license for World Cup games at Gillette Stadium Your browser does not support the video tag. Divine intervention The former insurance director and CEO of a medical center attributed most of his accomplishments to his divine journey with spirituality and faith. This starts with daily gratefulness, prayer, and meditation before preparing for what is ahead, Martina said. Persistently pointing to this divine journey, he said he always believed his country would qualify for the World Cup. He offered no other explanation as to how such a small nation could unite in under a year for 'a greater purpose.' 'With the universe, with God, with the cosmos, whatever name we want to give it,' his team started 'co-creating beauty,' he explained. 'Then the magic happens.' Martina also said there were too many instances and overlapping themes to ignore. On the very day he got the job as president of Curaçao Football Federation in April 2025, he predicted to his wife that his team would make the World Cup. 'There is no coincidence,' Martina declared. RELATED: Seattle plans World Cup 'Pride match' — and two countries that prosecute gays will play in it ANGEL BATTA/AFP/Getty Images Putting in the work What the executive also explained — without giving himself the proper credit — was how he brought his country out of the Stone Age in terms of organization and formalities. Before his election as president of Curaçao's soccer federation, the tiny country of about 150,000 had a program that was in shambles. Hotels and travel were not organized, players were not paid on time, and soccer teams within the country were at odds. 'Too much distraction,' Martina said, expressing the stress of the job. 'There's so much things that we had to professionalize, and so that was the focus.' He continued, 'Because if they're not focused [on qualifying] ... you will have too much distraction.' After Martina became president, Curaçao went undefeated in eight matches (five wins, three ties) and qualified for the World Cup. There, the team will share Group E with Germany, the Ivory Coast, and Ecuador, with its first game against Germany on June 14. Message for others Martina compared his approach to life, and to a successful nation, with a hummingbird. 'A hummingbird isn't going to a garbage nest at KFC or Pizza Hut. A hummingbird always goes for the best nectar, the best flowers, because that's the best of the best,' he said, mirroring advice he gives in his book, 'Healthy Minds, Healthy Nation.' Martina insisted that people should strive for the best, whether it is in performance, organization, or even nutrition. 'That's a powerful message. ... When we are able to convert that into our daily life, purpose, and intention, beautiful things happen.' Like Blaze News? Defending Education, an advocacy organization that combats leftist indoctrination in K-12 public schools, recently obtained documents outlining the talking points and marching orders being fed to radicals ahead of leftist May Day protests planned across the country.Among the leftist outfits poised to train would-be protesters is the Midwest Academy, a liberal activist-grooming center that has reportedly received over $1.7 million in recent years from the National Education Association.'Congress should revoke the NEA’s federal charter.'The Midwest Academy, joined by the the NYU Metro Center and organizers from Alliance to Reclaim Our Schools member groups, is coordinating a four-week training series titled "Four Weeks of Power" with the purported aim of building "a broader, stronger base of parents, educators and students taking action to defend and transform public schools."Although organized by the NEA-backed outfit, sessions will be provided by the leftist organization Free the Future, part of the NEA-aligned Alliance to Reclaim Our Schools network.Free the Future will start off the sessions by providing "an introduction to community organizing in the context of the rising authoritarianism we’re seeing in real time." Free the Future will conclude the sessions by helping fellow travelers "better understand power mapping and targets, understanding which actions make sense for our team and community, and the logistics of planning a successful action."RELATED: Why Johnny still can’t read: The curriculum cartel doesn’t want reform Dominic Di Palermo/Chicago Tribune/Tribune News Service/Getty ImagesFree the Future is evidently keen to train up radicals with the NEA-backed group in time for mass protests on May 1. Free the Future has partnered with May Day Strong "to plan hundreds of actions in the streets" next month.May Day Strong's tool kit reveals that radicals are reskinning their No Kings protests for May Day.The tool kit recommends not only protesting outside lawmakers' offices and "one of the many corporate targets we need to take on," but that radicals stage "school walk-ins" and rally outside schools.Hilton Hotels, Chevron, Citgo, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car are the corporations targeted by May Day Strong. The organizers have furnished would-be protesters with a template press release that contains the following talking points:"Tax the rich so our families, not their fortunes, come first." "No ICE, NO War. No private army serving authoritarian power." "Expand democracy, not corporate rule. Defend free and fair elections."NEA's official May Day 2026 "Solidarity Toolkit," which is greatly similar to the May Day Strong tool kit right down to the advocacy for school walk-ins, states, "This May Day will be a day of rallies, marches, teach-ins, labor actions, and a refusal of business as usual — because when those at the top rig the system, collective action is how we set it right."According to NEA's tool kit, "walk-ins" seem to involve a school invasion:During school walk-ins, parents, educators, and students, along with neighbors and community leaders, gather in front of their school 30-45 minutes before the school day begins. We rally and listen to a few speakers discuss what they want for the school, and then we all walk into the school together. Walk-ins can be used to celebrate your school, collaborate with school officials, or protest harmful school conditions and policies.Rhyen Staley, director of research at Defending Education, said in a statement obtained by Blaze News, "This is yet another example of how activists and teachers' unions view schools as a tool to advance their political agenda.""It should be deeply concerning that one of the suggested tactics is to enter schools to protest against policies they don’t like," continued Staley. "Putting children's education and safety at risk for political gain is unethical and immoral."Corey DeAngelis, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation's Center for Education Policy, told Blaze News, "Congress should revoke the NEA’s federal charter or at least bar them from engaging in political activity altogether."DeAngelis noted further, "These radicals are providing free advertising for homeschooling, showing us exactly who they are, and parents need to pull their kids out of these institutions."Becky Pringle, the Democrat NEA president who reportedly made over $500,000 while fighting to keep schools closed at kids' expense between September 2020 and August 2021, made clear in her keynote address at last year's National Education Association convention that her union is committed to undermining the Trump administration."We must use our power to take action that leads, action that liberates, action that lasts," Pringle said in her speech. At the convention, the NEA adopted a resolution declaring its support for mass movements against the government, including No Kings protests and anti-ICE rallies. Foreign workers are replacing Americans — now it’s happening in medicine

For years, Daniel Horowitz has been sounding the alarm about the deliberate replacement of American workers with foreigners. From H-1B visas to the OPT program for foreign graduates, the conservative commentator has been exposing the policies that keep Americans — especially young graduates — barred from high-paying tech, software engineering, and other STEM jobs. Now the same pattern is hitting medicine. Right now, many highly qualified American medical graduates are losing residency spots to foreign medical graduates. On a recent episode of “Conservative Review with Daniel Horowitz,” Horowitz and Houston ENT specialist Dr. Mary Talley Bowden dove into the startling statistics and offered a clear solution to the issue harming would-be American doctors. Horowitz bemoans the reality that taxpayer dollars via Medicare are going toward programs that won’t even guarantee American students a residency placement. “We’re basically funding our replacement,” he says.Dr. Bowden points to the shocking numbers from the residency match. “6,600 foreign medical students got residency spots, and meanwhile … over 1,300 U.S. medical students did not get a spot,” she says, arguing that Americans are “getting the leftovers at that point.”But it’s not just residencies — Americans are also being shut out of medical schools. “We are rejecting about 30,000 American students a year from medical school,” Dr. Bowden adds. The solution, she says, is straightforward: Fill residency spots with American graduates first, then offer any remaining positions to foreign graduates. “We could just say, ‘Hey, everybody in the U.S. has to match first, and then we can do a match for the foreign residents,’” she tells Horowitz, who strongly agrees.“No foreigner should be admitted into a medical school or residency program until every qualified American has a spot,” he says.To hear more, watch the full episode above.

Child reportedly arrested for murder after death of 12-year-old girl who protected her sister amid alleged bullying incident

A child reportedly has been arrested for murder in connection with the death of a 12-year-old girl who was protecting her sister amid an alleged bullying incident at a Los Angeles school. KCBS-TV said the Los Angeles Police Department did not provide many details about the individual arrested, stating only that the person is a minor arrested for murder. KNBC-TV said police noted the arrest Thursday.'On the afternoon of Feb. 17, Khimberly was trying to protect her sister. "The District takes the safety and well-being of our students very seriously. We are currently cooperating with law enforcement in connection with this incident."Police confirmed last month that a homicide investigation was under way following Khimberly’s death, KNBC said."This arrest is an important step toward accountability, but it does not change the bigger truth: this tragedy was entirely preventable," Glassman wrote in a statement, according to KCBS.Like Blaze News? Police find suitcases with human remains surrounded by vultures — and say teen suspect left unbelievable evidence

A Florida teenager was arrested and charged with murder after police said they literally found his name on evidence left with gruesome remains of the victim. The Palm Bay Police Department said it responded on Saturday to a report of vultures surrounding a closed, abandoned suitcase in Palm Bay.Jones allegedly confessed to the killing to his girlfriend and told her he wanted to kill sex offenders. He allegedly printed out a list of registered sex offenders nearby. When police arrived at the location, they found a black suitcase in tall grass emitting a strong odor and containing human remains.A second suitcase was found with additional remains, according to an affidavit.Police said they immediately suspected a 19-year-old named Lucas Sander Jones of Indialantic because they found an Amazon package addressed to him in one of the suitcases. They also found other personal belongings.Detectives said they learned Jones was associated with 28-year-old Colie Lee Daniel, who had been reported missing six days earlier by his mother.Police obtained a search warrant and found Jones at his residence with his girlfriend. They observed that Jones had several injuries, including visibly healed wounds and bruises. He chose not to speak to police. His girlfriend, however, told police she saw Jones trying to wake up Daniel as he was lying on Jones' bed on Friday, March 20. She also said that Jones had her drive him out to locations in Palm Bay to discard of two gray totes from her Honda Accord.Police said they found blood and a knife at the residence.Jones was charged with several crimes and released on bond, but as the investigation progressed, police determined the evidence justified a murder charge, and he was arrested again. He was charged with second-degree murder, dangerous and depraved without premeditation.Another affidavit said that Jones allegedly confessed to the killing to his girlfriend and told her he wanted to kill sex offenders. He allegedly printed out a list of registered sex offenders nearby. RELATED: 14-year-old stabbed and murdered after going on a bike ride in Florida. Police arrest a 'homeless drifter' for the crime. WKMG-TV theorized that he might have been inspired by the serial killer show "Dexter." Texas Democrat candidate toured for years with accordionist convicted for indecent conduct with a child

A Democrat candidate who is running to flip a U.S. House seat in Texas once toured with an accordionist who had been convicted for indecent conduct with a child.Bobby Pulido won two Latin Grammys as a Tejano music performer, but a New York Post report found that he performed many concerts with a child sex offender who also played the accordion.'Despite being caught on tape admitting he knew of this man's criminality and praising him as recently as November, Mr. Pulido now falsely claims to have been unaware of his crimes.'Frankie Caballero was sentenced to four years in prison for the second-degree felony with an 8-year-old girl in 2014.The Post documented that Pulido performed with Caballero at concerts in Kansas City, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Tucson, and other places between 2018 and 2021.In addition, the accordionist still identifies himself as the accordion player for Pulido on Facebook.Pulido's campaign manager, Abel Prado, told the Post that Pulido did not know about the child sex crime conviction. "Bobby was never made aware of Caballero's sex offender registration and would never knowingly associate with anyone with that kind of history," Prado said. "Bobby extends his deepest sympathies and support to all of the victims involved."The report also notes that the court records of the conviction in 2014 were not public because the victim was a minor, but the charge, sex registry status, and the sentence are all available on an official website for the Texas Dept. of Public Safety.Booking records at the Hidalgo County Sheriff's website indicate that Caballero was booked on four counts related to indecent sexual contact with a child.Pulido's Republican opponent, Rep. Monica De La Cruz (Texas), released a statement accusing the musician of being less than truthful about what he knew."My heart goes out to the children who were sexually abused by a close friend and professional associate of Bobby Pulido. For three decades, Mr. Pulido brought a child predator into our neighborhoods with multiple convictions for sexually abusing children in Hidalgo County, including an 8-year-old girl," reads the statement from De La Cruz."Despite being caught on tape admitting he knew of this man's criminality and praising him as recently as November, Mr. Pulido now falsely claims to have been unaware of his crimes," she added. "These are not South Texas values. As both a mother and a congresswoman, I want the families of these sexually abused children whose suffering Mr. Pulido ignored to know that I am here for you."She went on to ask the victims' families to contact her office for federal resources of support.RELATED: Democratic challenger in pivotal Texas election portrayed pervert who masturbates in public in music video Prado also said that Pulido learned about Caballero's criminal history in 2014 and immediately fired him.De La Cruz trounced her Democrat opponent in the 2024 election by more than 14 points. President Donald Trump also won the district easily.Prior to the revelations about his touring with a child sex offender, Pulido tried to gain media attention by asking 15-year-old Latinas to invite him to their birthday parties.Like Blaze News? 'Project Hail Mary' offers old-fashioned sci-fi wonder

There is a particular pleasure in watching a film that understands its own premise so completely that it never needs to raise its voice. “Project Hail Mary” is that kind of film. It is about the end of the world, or rather the quiet prevention of it, and it proceeds not with spectacle but with curiosity. You lean in. It also shows that Hollywood can still make films that put storytelling first. Clarity is one of the rarest virtues in modern filmmaking, too often filled with giant robot explosions and woke speechifying. The story, based on Andy Weir's novel, follows Ryland Grace, played with a careful, disarming humanity by Ryan Gosling. He wakes alone on a spacecraft, far from Earth, with no memory of who he is or why he is there. The film reveals its answers slowly, trusting the audience to keep up. It is a confidence rarely seen in big studio science fiction, which tends to mistake noise for intelligence. Quiet wonder Grace is not a hero in the usual sense. He is a schoolteacher, a man more comfortable explaining than commanding. The film is built on problem-solving, on the steady accumulation of knowledge, on the small victories of understanding how things work. It recalls the best passages of Weir's “The Martian,” where survival depends on smart people overcoming impossible odds. What distinguishes “Project Hail Mary” from “The Martian” is companionship. Without giving too much away, Grace does not remain alone. The relationship that develops is one of the most unusual and affecting in recent science fiction. It is built not on corny sentiment but on shared necessity. Two radically different minds find a way to communicate. The scenes have a kind of quiet wonder that science fiction used to trade in more often, before it became preoccupied with destruction. It’s not really a spoiler because it’s in the trailer, but Grace befriends a spider-like rock alien who is also trying to save his planet. They must learn to communicate and work together. Hail competence Gosling understands the tone. He avoids the temptation to play the material for easy laughs or grand emotion. Instead, he lets the humor arise from confusion and discovery. There are moments of genuine comedy, but they grow out of character rather than being cheap jokes. You believe him as a man who is scared, then curious, then determined. The direction, handled with precision and restraint by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, resists the urge to turn every crisis into a set piece. Space here is not a battlefield; it’s a problem to be solved. The visuals are clean and intelligible. You always know where you are, what is happening, and why it matters. This may sound like faint praise, but it is not. Clarity is one of the rarest virtues in modern filmmaking, too often filled with giant robot explosions and woke speechifying. There is also an undercurrent in the film that feels old-fashioned. It takes seriously the idea that competence is a moral good. That cooperation, even across impossible boundaries, is preferable to conflict. These are not fashionable ideas, but the film does not argue for them. It simply demonstrates them. If the film has a weakness, it lies in its structure. The gradual revelation of Grace’s past, while effective, occasionally interrupts the forward motion of the central story. Some of the Earthbound sequences feel less vivid than the material in space. They serve the plot, but they lack the same sense of discovery. RELATED: Commentary: 'Barbie' is for the boys Tristan Fewings/Getty Images Rare success Still, the film succeeds where it matters most. It creates a world, poses a question, and then answers it honestly. It respects its audience. It believes that people will follow an idea if it is presented clearly enough. I left the theater thinking not about explosions or villains, but about communication. About the fragile, stubborn act of trying to understand something that does not speak your language. That is a rare thing for a film to leave you with. It is rarer still for a film of this scale to have a competent, straight white male who is the hero and isn’t lectured about leftist ideology. What a novel idea. And the fact that this movie has been a runaway success at the box office and with audiences proves there’s been a longing for movies like this. “Project Hail Mary” is not loud. It does not need to be. It knows what it is about, and it trusts that to be enough. In the end, saving the world with heroism and smarts will resonate more than bloated CGI.

Glenn Beck in SHOCK over UK's dystopian 'blasphemy laws'

Concerns about free speech in the United Kingdom are growing as new laws surrounding speech, public protest, and religious criticism threaten to change the future of civil liberties — and activist Tommy Robinson, who has been on the wrong side of these laws already — is prepared to fight back. “Their problem always has been that I always speak facts,” Robinson tells Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck on “The Glenn Beck Program.” While there are strict laws against “incitement to hatred,” which Robinson has often been accused of, he points out that he’s just telling the truth. “That’s what this law they’re now bringing in is about. They don’t want the public to be aware of facts or truth if you speak the truth about Islam. They want to limit what you can say, and that’s now what their new law intends to do,” he explains. And Robinson doesn’t plan to stop speaking out about Islam anytime soon. “This law won’t change anything I say. So if I’m honest, I will continue. I won’t limit my speech if I’m telling the truth. If that means I’ll end up in prosecutions, it means I will end up in prosecutions,” Robinson tells Glenn. “Most of these laws are about instilling fear,” he continues, noting that the Labour government also intends to remove the jury service. “What does that mean?” Glenn asks. “You can be taken to court in the U.K., and if they drop it to a low charge, you do not get a jury,” Robinson explains. “And that means they can only give you ... 12 or 24 months,” he continues, noting that they’re now changing that. “They’re changing it so you can get four years,” he says. “So not only are they bringing in a law that prohibits you from telling the truth, they’re also ... taking away your ability to be tried by 12 members of the public. You’ll just be tried by a judge,” he explains. Robinson’s last prison sentence, he tells Glenn, was 18 months in jail for making a film called “Silence.” “That film was 100% factual. No one has argued with any of the facts I’ve presented in that film, or the judge didn’t have a problem with the facts I presented in the film. Just the fact that I showed the public the film,” he says. “If I was able to have a jury to let the jury decide, I believe I’d never have gone to jail once. But I’ve never been given the opportunity to have a jury,” he adds. Want more from Glenn Beck? Bondi speaks out after ouster, still may have to testify before Congress

President Donald Trump politely kicked Pam Bondi to the curb on Thursday, touting her as a "Great American Patriot" and crediting her with "overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country" during her nearly 14 months on the job.Hours after Trump publicized the ouster and named Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche as the acting attorney general, Bondi took a page out of ex-Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's book, expressing her gratitude to the president and framing her time at the Justice Department in positive terms."Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history," Bondi wrote on X.'She must answer for her mishandling of the Epstein files.'Bondi — criticized in recent months over her DOJ's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, her bizarre Epstein testimony, her suggestion that "hate speech" should be policed, and her perceived inefficacy and failure to prosecute the individuals who waged potentially illegal lawfare against Trump — echoed Trump's remark about the precipitous drop in crime over the past year.A report from the Major Cities Chiefs Association comparing crime stats in 2025 to stats from the previous year found that homicides dropped nationally by 19.3%; rapes dropped by nearly 9%; robberies dropped by 19.8%; and aggravated assault dropped by 9.7%.RELATED: If the Justice Department won’t execute Trump’s orders, who’s in charge? Roberto Schmidt/Getty Images"Since February 2025, we have secured the lowest murder rate in 125 years, secured first-ever terrorism convictions against members of Antifa, shattered domestic and transnational gangs across the country, taken custody of more than 90 key cartel figures, and won 24 favorable rulings at the Supreme Court," wrote Bondi.Bondi added, "I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again."Although Bondi noted that she is "moving to an important private sector role," she still may have to answer for actions taken while serving as attorney general. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee voted last month to subpoena Bondi on the release of the Epstein files.Democrats on the committee emphasized in a joint statement on Thursday that Bondi "will not escape accountability and remains legally obligated to appear before our Committee under oath. She must answer for her mishandling of the Epstein files and the special treatment she has given Ghislaine Maxwell."The top Democrat on the committee, Rep. Robert Garcia (Calif.), tweeted, "Pam Bondi and Donald Trump may think her firing gets her out of testifying to the Oversight Committee. They are wrong — and we look forward to hearing from her under oath."Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (S.C.) wrote, "My subpoena still stands. When the Oversight Committee moved to subpoena Bondi, I did it by name, not by or not as the sitting Attorney General of the U.S."Around the time the subpoena was issued, Mace stated, "AG Bondi claims the DOJ has released all of the Epstein files. The record is clear: they have not. The Epstein case is one of the greatest cover-ups in American history. His global sex trafficking network is larger than what is being revealed. Three million documents have been released, and we still don't have the full truth. Videos are missing. Audio is missing. Logs are missing. There are millions more documents out there. We want to know why the DOJ is more focused on shielding the powerful than delivering justice."Citing people familiar with the discussions between Bondi and the committee, the New York Times reported that Bondi has not yet committed to appearing for her scheduled April 14 deposition.Todd Blanche said in a statement that Bondi "led this Department with strength and conviction" and that the DOJ will "continue backing the blue, enforcing the law, and doing everything in our power to keep America safe."Like Blaze News?
