AGI? The Finish Line Moves.
The term AGI remains intentionally undefined by AI labs to maintain high valuations and avoid regulatory oversight while chasing capital. Although current models have "raw" intelligence, their lack of reliability and persistent hallucinations prevent them from yet meeting any true functional threshold. Ultimately, the goalposts for AGI will likely continue to shift to ensure the technology (and fundraising narrative) stays "two years away."
