Young Girl Injured After Bear Attacks Her on Backyard Deck Near Vancouver

A three-year-old girl is in hospital after being attacked by a bear outside her family’s home in the northeastern part of Metro Vancouver. The girl was attacked by an adult black bear in Maple Ridge, B.C., just before noon on Aug. 9, while she was playing on the backyard deck of her home, British Columbia’s Conservation Officer Service said in a statement.
