@nostrability repos were disappeared from github the past 24 hours. No email from github, no idea what happened. Schemata, trackers, sherlock and everything else.

I will try to restore when I return to my machine.

Maybe this is the signal for nostr git for those not there yet.

Consider backing up your github at the least.

Dont chase the red herring of “feature parity”.

Figure out who your customers are, who they are not, and what are their pain points, jobs-to-be-done, motivations, and how discord is failing at serving them.

“reaching feature parity “ sounds nice on paper.

In reality the customers switching from discord have a strong enough reason to do this to take risk, endure the pain of a new app that doesn’t have standard pattern of email login, and has a bunch of other novelties that no one has heard of outside our bubble.

The core jobs to be done are find my people, associate with my people, talk with my people. From this lens, the difference between flotilla and discord is the gulag.

Everything outside the core JTBDs else is bells & whistles.

A 15-year study in Japan found that Enoki mushroom farmers had significantly lower cancer death rates than the general public. While about 160 out of every 100,000 people in the general population died from cancer, only 97 out of 100,000 farmers did. Researchers believe this was because the farmers ate many more Enoki mushrooms

Namecheap suspended my account because they started requiring KYC, and I can't recover it. I'm definitely not going to KYC myself

Hey! Well, long story short, Namecheap suspended my account because they started requiring KYC, and I can’t recover it. I’m definitely not going to KYC myself. I started Nostree a long time ago, and it has been working great so far. However, I had no support for it, so I had to put my energy into other projects. The events are still there, and the front end is open source, so anyone could run it. It is also still available at https://nostree.pages.dev/ I don’t know what more to do. Maybe I should get another domain, maybe a .xyz and deploy there? What would feel better? Also, NIP-51 changed sometime ago, so how Nostree works is not compliant either… Nostr… Anyways, sorry for that. The fiat world and its demons.

simple but not obvious

I think it’s simple but not obvious. More on the order of Twitter shorthand. Which is fine, just not for everyone - but you have to draw the line somewhere I suppose.

This case illustrates how European speech laws increasingly rely on financial pressure rather than territorial jurisdiction. By conditioning access to users on compliance with national speech controls, governments create incentives for platforms to preemptively restrict expression to avoid regulatory conflict. The result is a system where legal exposure flows from audience size rather than conduct within a country. Germany’s approach also reveals the paper trail behind modern censorship enforcement. The fine stems not from a specific post or statement, but from alleged failure to comply with aspects of NetzDG. That procedural hook enables broader regulatory reach, transforming administrative requirements into a mechanism for speech governance.

Small businesses face 41-57% rejection rates for basic trade finance while the same banks hold $192 trillion in derivatives positions. Basel III treats a letter of credit backing real goods as riskier than abstract financial instruments that produce nothing. The system works exactly as designed: extracting value from those who create it, denying credit to those who need it most.

Desire is a hidden form of debt that must be repaid before you get to feel any happiness

Dercks also confirmed that the country is commencing a major process of deindustrialisation. Indeed, the report noted that 51 percent of companies based in Germany with at least 500 employees, as well as 45 percent of companies bearing high power costs, are either considering moving their operations out of the country and reducing domestic production or have already begun doing so. Such figures are also, respectively, 8 percent and 7 percent higher than those in the same report published in 2023, thus reflecting the acuteness of the problems faced by German industry more recently. The companies cited the uncertain policy future in Germany as a key reason for their changing positions on domestic production, as they are increasingly uncompetitive in international markets and have less capital to invest in research and development (R&D) to improve their market positioning.

The algorithmic feeds on legacy social media (LSM) are going to continue to deteriorate over time, basically turning into reddit front page slop. Being on LSM is proving to be such a waste of time man. You literally have to post like a slop influencer just for the elon algorithm to grant you the privilege of having any engagement. It sucks.

“Jesus said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honour except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.’ He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few people who were ill and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith. Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village.”
